Here are 5 tools that help me work and play anywhere I choose.
These tips can help you create a freedom based business model to support your lifestyle.
- Secure a designated bridge line to host calls and make sure you have a backup service just in case.
I use FreeConferencePro.com as my main bridge line. This allows me to call in and connect with clients no matter where I am. Scheduling client calls via the bridge line also creates clear boundaries. - Get a 1-800 so people can call and leave messages that are forwarded to you wherever you are.
I use Grasshopper.com for my main telephone line. My messages are forwarded to me and my team via email and the line doubles as a fax line (yes, people still fax information). - Get a laptop.
It’s fine to have a desk top system and if you really want to live the freedom based lifestyle, you’ll need a reliable laptop. Get one. - Back up your laptop files using Dropbox.
This allows you to manage your files and content anywhere and it also gives your team access to important projects as needed. - Use a project management system to organize projects and team members.
I use Basecamp and I love it. This online tool gives you and your team instant access to projects, todo’s, and important business information.
These are the 5 core technology tools that I use to work on the go. As long as I have a land line or cell service and Internet access I can work and play anywhere.
